Hello! I’m Konrad and I lead the IMAGINE Lab.
Together we use machine learning to create the imaging and genetics tools to better understand, diagnose and target treatment in neurodevelopmental disorders, with a particular focus on epilepsy.
My background is in medicine, physics, neuroimaging, genetics and machine learning.
At the weekend I love spending time outdoors with my family.

Hello, I’m Sophie and I co-lead the IMAGINE lab. I am passionate about bringing together clinicians, neuroscientists and data scientists to create useful AI tools that can transform how we look after children and adults with neurodevelopmental disorders.
I split my time between working as a doctor, where I am specialising in paediatrics with a particular interest in neurological diseases, working as a neuroimaging scientist, and being mum to three gorgeous boys.

Hi, I’m Mathilde! I’m a post-doc in the IMAGINE lab.
My work focuses on developing automated tools using AI to detect epilepsy lesions on MRI scans.
My background is in physics, neuroimaging and machine-learning.
When I’m not immersed in those amazing neuroscience projects, I enjoy leading scout activities, spending time in nature and playing squash.

jack.1.highton@kcl.ac.uk
Hello! I am Jack Highton and I joined the IMAGINE Lab as a postdoc in October 2024.
I am working on creating a searchable multi-omic database for gene expression related to Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and epilepsy. I will also utilize this tool(s) to analyse transcriptomic signatures of risk genes, enhancing understanding of their role in these two neurodevelopmental disorders.
My background is in medical imaging, medical physics, data science, and machine learning.
I enjoy my gym, wikipedia, church, and cycling.

lena.dorfschmidt@kcl.ac.uk
Hi! I am Lena. I am a postdoc in the IMAGINE lab. I previously worked on trajectories of functional and structural brain development in health and disease throughout the lifespan.
In the lab, I will be working on linking genetic diagnosis, brain development and neurodevelopmental profiles in rare genetic cohorts.
Outside the lab you can find me rock climbing, hiking, surfing, and enjoying veggie food.

ali.afsharmoqaddam.23@ucl.ac.uk
Hi, my name is Ali. I’m a MSc student at UCL working with the MELD team. My research focuses on MRI post-processing methods to detect cortical pathology associated with epilepsy.
Currently, I’m intercalating as a fourth-year medical student at Barts and I’m highly interested in the fields of clinical epilepsy and machine learning.
